Creating a Royal Design

,,

We want royalty.

Alright¦ Ornate furniture, period costumes, virgin white ” Design royalty here we go!

We wanted to take a fresh look at how we were going to create a short film that would honor the modern day designers at the AIGA Fellow Awards.  In collaboration with AIGA  ” the worlds oldest and one of the largest design organizations ” we set the scene with an all white set, framing our royal princess in this pristine and untouched environment.

Frame by frame, the story was being completed and the work transitioned into effortless and carefree moments. The wardrobe team, set designers and production crew created that ease as we seamlessly collaborated on set, directing the talent to let loose and have some fun.

My film lit the room, spanning several projection screens to introduce the award show. The seats were filled with a variety of talented designers to which Augustin Garza, David Mayes, and the famous Lynda Weinman and Bruce Heavin of Lynda.com were all awarded. The night was a big one, a great moment to show the L.A. crowd what I can do as a filmmaker.

A big congrats to all the winners and a bigger thanks to AIGA for an incredible opportunity to be part of such a prestigious gala.
